Jack Daniel’s Country Cocktail
I am totally a whiskey girl. If there is a whiskey cocktail on the menu, I’m probably going to order it. And Jack Daniel’s Honey Jack is one of my all-time favorites but I hadn’t been giving the ready-to-drink cocktail line from Jack Daniel’s much of a thought until I saw this peach cocktail. Maybe it is was the flashback to drinking their old version of cocktails that deterred me. Do you remember those? They were the smaller bottles and they came in a four-pack. If you as a guy to buy you something at the liquor store they almost always bought those. Just me? Maybe that was just the country kids I grew up with.
Anyway, I love anything peach and I love Jack Daniel’s liquors so I decided to give this one a try. Could it be better than those little bottles of my early 20s? Let’s find out.
Just in time for spring and summer, Jack Daniel’s Country Cocktails is announcing the release of its newest flavor, Southern Citrus. If you’re not familiar with them, country cocktails are ready to drink cocktails from the Jack Daniels brand. Back in college, we use to love to grab these on our way to the beach for the non-beer drinkers.
Nobody wants to be whipping up messy drinks at the beach or even at the park so these are a good alternative. You can expect to see Southern Citrus hitting shelves in early May around the U.S. Here are some highlights from their press release:
“Friends of Jack Daniel’s Country Cocktails will have a new flavor to reach for this summer,” says Lisa Hunter, Jack Daniel’s Country Cocktails Brand Director. “For Southern Citrus, we used the ripe medley of citrus fruits to create the perfect summer drink for easy entertaining at home or enjoying during your favorite warm-weather activities .”
Okay, this is really good! I was a little concerned this was going to be too close to my early drinking days when Jack Daniel’s Down Home Punch was my jam. And maybe it is, it’s been too long since I had one of those, but this was darn good.
Hennessy Pure White Cognac, 70cl
It has an awesome peach flavor, it’s pretty sweet but not over-the-top gross sweet, and it is on the lower end of the boozy scale coming in at 4.8 ABV. I will not hesitate to pick these up again, especially for my friend that loves a good sweet cocktail but isn’t much of a drinker. And then I’ll drink these too because they are just that good. Yum!
