I spent weeks researching the whisky investment market and spoke to lots of brokers. I chose Whisky For All because I found Josh to be polite, courteous and professional. He guided me through a pleasurable investment experience that I have already repeated with him. I’m extremely pleased with his service and expertise.
Great job Josh…There’s to many more in the future.

Having initially been a bit apprehensive about investing in cask whisky, I can highly recommend Martin Bates, senior wealth consultant for W&WC.
Martin explained things clearly and thoroughly during the initial phone call, followed up by an email covering everything we had spoken about. Any questions afterwards were promptly answered via email or phone call.
I have no hesitation in recommending Martin and will be investing with him again.

    Scotch Whisky

Laphroaig 10 Year Old is considered by many to be “Best Single Malt Whisky in the World.” It has a smokey-smooth taste, without being too overpowering. The peaty single malt Islay Scotch whisky is wonderful when paired with cheeses like Danish Bleu cheese, Roquefort or Gorgonzola, oysters, smoked almonds, smoked salmon, sushi, and finger sandwiches made with toast and Brie.

We also represent Johnnie Walker Scotch and stock all colors – from the best-selling Johnnie Walker Red Label to the iconic Johnnie Walker Blue Label, one of the most sought-after whiskies in the world.

    American Bourbon Whiskey

American Bourbon is not as simple as you might think. It has to be made in the United States; it must include at least 51% corn; it must be produced at not more than 80% alcohol (160 proof) and stored in charred new oak containers at no more than 62.5% (125 proof).

The Woodford Reserve Distillery has been distilling on the same site since 1780, making it the oldest Bourbon distillery in Kentucky and practically the inventor of the spirit we know and love today. Rich and thick with the flavors of toffee, caramel chocolate, baking spices, and orange zest, you can’t go wrong with the classic dark amber Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Wonderfully smooth, it makes a terrific Old-Fashioned cocktail

    Canadian Whisky

Crown Royal is “THE” Canadian Whisky. It was introduced in 1939 as a tribute to the royal visit of King George VI and his wife, Queen Elizabeth, the first of a reigning monarch to Canada, and was available only in Canada until 1964. It’s a very smooth, easy-to-drink blended whisky.

The whisky is produced solely at the company’s distillery at Gimli, on the shores of Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, where 10,000 bushels of grain and 3.4 million liters (900,000 US gallons) of water are consumed each day. At any given time, expect to find 2 million barrels aging in 50 warehouses over 5 acres of land.

    Irish Whiskey

    Irish Whiskey

John Jameson, a Scottish lawyer, founded a distillery in Dublin, Ireland in 1780. Since then, Jameson Irish Whiskey (now distilled in Cork, Ireland) has become the most recognizable and best-selling Irish whiskey in the world. And it’s as smooth as it gets!

Jameson is produced from a blend of grain whiskey and single pot still whiskey, which uses a mixture of malted and unmalted or “green” Irish barley, all sourced from within a 50-mile radius of the distillery in Cork. The whiskey is not as sweet as most American Bourbon whiskies, and does not have the smoky, burnt-rubber taste that comes from the peat in Scotch whiskey.

What are the smoothest whiskeys? You’re certain to find whatever you need at Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits.

How Much Whiskey Is Good For Your Health?

This depends on your age and personal biology3. Some studies suggest that moderate drinking has some health benefits. Other evidence suggests that the safest amount of whiskey is none at all. Moderate consumption4 of whiskey is defined as:

    • Up to one whiskey per day for women
    • Up to two whiskeys per day for men

This refers to a standard drink of 1.5 ounces, or about one regular shot.

Is One Whisky a Day Good For You?

Some evidence suggests that moderate drinking has health benefits5, including:

    • Improved heart health
    • Improved mood and reduced stress
    • Reduced risk of diabetes
    • Reduced risk of obesity

By this logic, if you drink one shot of whiskey every day, it might be somewhat beneficial for you.

However, there is still some debate about this. Some scientists argue that these benefits are a coincidence—that moderate drinkers also tend to have other healthy habits6, which are the real cause.

And overall, each of the above benefits can also be gained from eating a good diet and getting enough exercise.

Is Drinking Whiskey Once A Week Good For You?

Drinking once a week is probably better than drinking whiskey every day. However, this doesn’t mean you should pack all the drinks you would’ve had in one week into a single day! Moderation—one to two servings—is still key.

That said, if you stick with this quantity, it’s likely to do you little harm.

What Makes Whiskey Different From Other Drinks?

Whiskey is one of the lowest calorie8 alcoholic beverages out there—so long as it’s consumed straight and not combined with sugary mixers. If you’re counting calories or trying to lose weight, choosing whiskey over a higher-calorie beverage can help you stay within your daily goals.

    Worse Hangovers

On the other hand, whiskey drinkers tend to report worse hangovers. A key reason is that whiskey has higher concentrations of congeners, a byproduct of fermentation that contributes to whiskey’s smell and taste.

Congeners may prolong the effects of intoxication and intensify hangover symptoms9—including headaches, bad breath, and an upset stomach.

People who are allergic or sensitive to rye, wheat, corn, or barley (the grains typically used to make whiskey) may experience an allergic reaction to this beverage.

Depending on the person, these reactions may be severe—and the alcohol in whiskey may make them even worse.

What Can You Do If You Are Drinking Too Much Whiskey?

If you think you might be drinking more whiskey than is healthy, there are several things you can do to cut back.

Choose specific times when you are allowed to drink, and set a specific drink maximum

Pay attention to what times of day, and what situations you often drink in. Make a list of alternative things to do at those times, to replace drinking whiskey.

Avoid drinking alcohol at home, or keeping whiskey in the house

Of course, for many people this is easier said than done. If you feel you could use some extra support in quitting or cutting back on whiskey, there’s no shame in looking for help.

Ria Health offers flexible, online support from wherever you are. Choose moderation or abstinence, set your own goals, and get a plan customized to your unique needs.

Best of all, you can access the whole thing right from your smartphone.

The Dietary Guidelines for Americans states that “moderate alcohol consumption is defined as having up to one drink per day for women and up to two drinks per day for men. This definition is referring to the amount consumed on any single day and is not intended as an average over several days.”

In other words, one or two fingers of whiskey a day may improve your health, but anything more than that and the risks begin to outweigh the benefits.

Also take into consideration what you are mixing with your whiskey. A splash of water will not have any affect, but adding half a glass of diet coke will.

In order to justify a daily glass of whiskey by its health benefits, you need to make sure that you are not inadvertently taking away from them by the way you take your cocktail.

Drinking whiskey responsibly, and with moderation, can help you to live a longer and healthier life.

Grow a taste for the spirit without any squirts or splashes, and you will get the full health benefits that whiskey has to offer.

10 HIDDEN HEALTH BENEFITS THAT MAKE DRINKING WHISKEY A GOOD HABIT TO HAVE

    1. STAY SLIM

Compared against beer, wine and other spirits, whiskey has a very low calorie count. It also contains practically no sugar. Of course that all changes once you start adding sour mix or coke, so stick with your whiskey neat and avoid putting on unnecessary weight. Whiskey also reduces the appetite. One drink towards the end of a meal ensures that you are not going to overeat your way out of that slim body.

    2. GIVE YOUR HEART A BOOST

Wine, dark beer and whiskey all contain elements that increase the health of your heart. Whiskey can reduce the risk of blood clots, decreasing the chances of suffering from a heart attack or stroke. There are also antioxidants found in whiskey that prevent cholesterol from building up in the arteries, and promote the health of good cholesterol that your heart craves.

Small amounts of whiskey will elevate the levels of HDL in the bloodstream, which is associated with protection against developing heart disease. If your family health history includes close relatives who have suffered from heart attacks or strokes, a daily dose of whiskey will help you to avoid that same fate.

    3. FIGHT CANCEROUS CELLS

One antioxidant in particular – ellagic acid – is found in whiskey. Ellagic acid inhibits your own DNA from coming into contact with any other cancer causing compounds you may ingest (ahem cigar smokers). This reduces the odds of carcinogens forming inside of the body. Whiskey has also been found to help protect the body as it is subjected to chemotherapy, and reduce oxidation.

    4. PROLONG THE ONSET OF DEMENTIA

A 2003 study of the effects of whiskey found that it can help reduce the risk of developing dementia and even Alzheimer’s disease. That happy feeling the drink brings on initially is having a positive lasting effect on the health of your brain.

    5. PERFORM BETTER BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

A shot of whiskey increases the blood flow to ALL of the organs, helping men who sometimes suffer from erectile dysfunction. Excessive drinking will have the opposite effect, but there is nothing wrong with one drink during a date to ensure that your libido is intact after dessert.

    6. PREVENT STROKES

Whiskey works at preventing strokes in a number of ways. First, it is stopping the build-up of cholesterol in the arteries. At the same it is helping to rid the body of cholesterol that is already there. Most importantly, whiskey helps the walls of the arteries relax, allowing the blood to flow freely throughout your body.

    7. EASE STRESS AND ANXIETY

A shot of whiskey after a hard day helps to calm your nerves, thus relaxing your body. Stress and anxiety can lead to any number of physical health problems, a series of events that can be avoided with the occasional whiskey cocktail. With increased circulation also comes oxygenated blood to all of the organs, helping you to regain control and calm down.

    8. INCREASE SHORT TERM MEMORY RETENTION

The mind will stay active when infused with a few glasses of whiskey each week. The same antioxidants that work at preventing dementia and Alzheimer’s later are aiding your memory now. Too much whiskey, and you may not remember what you did last night. But in moderation, whiskey proves to be a great tool for keeping the brain working the way it should.

    9. HAVE A HEALTHIER DIGESTION SYSTEM

Historically, whiskey is consumed after a meal to help the food pass calmly through the digestive system. The influx of fresh blood it brings to the stomach and other organs helps the body to relax and get to work on digesting your meal. The risk of indigestion is avoided, allowing you to enjoy the rest of your evening in peace.

    10. AVOID CARBOHYDRATES

Whiskey is the drink of choice for diabetics, thanks to its complete absence of carbohydrates. This means that when drunk straight, whiskey will have no effect on blood sugar levels. Those trying out the latest no-carb diet trends to lose weight will also like this added benefit that whiskey has.

ALL OF THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF WHISKEY EQUAL A LONGER LIFESPAN

When looked at as a group, the 10 health benefits that are packed inside a bottle of whiskey can actually increase your lifespan by reducing your risk of developing disease. The healthy antioxidants contained in whiskey are protecting your body, and preventing the breakdown of the important cells running it.

WHEN DOES DRINKING WHISKEY BECOME TOO MUCH FOR THE BODY?
